Taelor Fisher
It wasn’t until her freshman year at New York University, studying design for theater in the Tisch School of the Arts, that Taelor discovered her love for the paintbrush. Missing her sweet tea and southern roots after two years, she transferred to Southern Methodist University and completed her degree in Studio Art and Art History. She held many positions working in the Dallas Arts District, including the Nasher Sculpture Center and AT&T Performing Arts Center. She is now creating custom abstract paintings for interior decorators, designers, and storeowners, and is the happy art teacher at Bradfield Elementary in Highland Park. Taelor is inspired by natural happenings, whether it is a cast shadow on the sidewalk, or the way torn paper falls in a pattern. She often stops to look at the movement of light or the imperfect shapes of leaves, the details we most often overlook. She finds inspiration from the colors and materials that surround her, whether it is stunning interior décor or a bouquet of fresh colorful flowers. Taelor creates paintings that are very layered. She begins with a subtle and simple wash of colors and then moves towards layers of intentional energizing brushstrokes and shapes in her work.
